I decided to partake in Got Sketch? Sketch 88 and the above card is what I came up with. I purchased a few pieces of BoBunny's Alyssa line at the beginning of July and have been trying to figure out what I'd like to create with it. When I saw the latest sketch on Got Sketch? I knew that it was time to play with ma paper!
Another one of my favourite things to play with is acetate and I thought it would be awesome to incorporate that into the card as well. I was inspired by Lucy (Lucy's Cards) when she made some of her cards with acetate and since then I've been playing around it, trying to find the appropiate project and time to use it. I love the dimension it can add to a card whether using it for a base or used as an element. Stamping on acetate can be tricky but I have discovered if I take my time it can create stunning effects.

I don't know how many of you noticed but I went m.i.a. for the last couple of weeks! After a two-month wait, I finally went to see a specialist regarding the pain I have been encountering for the last 8 months. The prognosis? We still don't know but I will be having day surgery in the first week of October to remove the small mass that was discovered in April this year and to see if I am suffering from endometriosis. I feel pretty confident that we are finally on the right track as endo is in my family and the genes goes as far back as my great grandmother (and every female born since!) so I'm positive that's what's going on. Unfortunately for me, I've had to endure more poking, more tests, and more needles. I just hope after the surgery, I will start feeling like myself again and be back on my feet!
I must confess I haven't been up to making many cards in the last few weeks as I've been busy purging and re-organizing through the house before I return working full-time again. The plan is to have a garage sale in the next few weeks. We really haven't had a summer nor sunny decent weekend weather to have a sale so I'm figuring it's Mother Nature's practical joke on me and everyone else in southern Ontario. The second I return to work -- Mother Nature will serve up the lovely warm and sunny weather!
I'm off to go through some more boxes!
