Lucy's Cards: Monochromatic Challenge

Happy New Year!

It has been a while since I have blogged, you all must have thought that I had given up on my site, but with my year from hell over, my one resolution this year is to make more of an effort to post! 

Christmas seemed to fly by this year, despite having the two weeks for the holidays off, I wish I was able to enjoy more free time to myself! 

It's hard to believe how beautiful and sunny here it is today in Mississauga but it's just a little too cold to really go out and do anything.  A whopping -9 degrees celsius today!  How I miss summer! :)

To chase my winter "blues" away, I decided to create a card for Lucy's challenge!

As seeing that the next holiday will be here in no time, I created a Valentine's Day card for this week's challenge.  I didn't quite realize just how much red I had knocking about until I started to rummage through my crafty stuff.  I had a couple of inspirations that I wanted to add to the card:  my absolute love of Kristina Werner's faux-stitching technique, the lovely paper flower creations that Dawn McVey makes and the vintage shabby chic look that Julia Stainton always seems to flawlessly create.

So my lovelies, I'm going to go and enjoy the rest of the day by watching a rented copy of "Julie and Julia" and attempt to relax as it's sooooo rare I do!
