Happy 5th Anniversary to my Hubbie!

This is the anniversary card that I made for my husband this year as we celebrated 5 years of married life this past weekend. I was hoping to have been able to post the card before we left for Niagara but unfortunately too much was happening at the time. Better late than never I suppose!

I had started creating this card a few weeks ago and then discovered the colour challenge on Kristina Werner's blog and started to base the card around her challenge. I didn't enter the challenge because of all the brown I had in the card considering it wasn't even a colour included in the challenge. Kinda defeats the purpose, don't you think? S:o)

I must confess that this is my first REAL attempt at using Copic markers (despite the card I made for my mother-in-law's birthday). I love how you can shade with these markers and have an absolutely "flawless" finish.

All in all, my husband loved it and that's what makes it great to create cards!

As I mentioned earlier in my post, my husband and I spent our anniversary in Niagara. We spent some time at some of the best wineries Niagara has to offer (Reif Estates, Peller Estates and Inniskillin) where we enjoyed great wines and fantastic atmosphere. We were suppose to have rain all day Friday but thankfully the weather Gods felt pity for us and we had absolute glorious sunshine! We also made our way onto the Maid of the Mist which was awesome! We ended up drenched but it was completely worth it -- just to be that close to one of the most powerful forces on the face of the earth. If you ever have an opportunity to stay in Niagara, this is one attraction I suggest that you don't miss!

I'm now off to go and make my husband's birthday card as he celebrates his bday later this week!
