:: Birthday Sundaes Challenge #35: Put a Tree on your card! ::

I must admit I was a little stumped on this week's card challenge...
that was until my mom asked me if I could create a card for one of her co-workers,
who will be flying to somewhere tropical and sunny in two weeks time to celebrate her 50th birthday!  Talk about saving the day! S:o)

It has been quite a while since I pulled out and used some of my Greeting Farm stamps.
I figured using Hope-Sing would the ideal stamp considering the occasion! To create Hope's "skirt", I simply paper-pieced her sarong with two different papers from MME's Vanity Fair 6x6 paper collection that I purchased at the Kraftin' Kimmie Day that I attended last month and shaded the bottom (or inside flap) to make it look like it was folded underneath the top part of the sarong.

I realized as I was making Ms. Hope that I didn't have any tree stamps
(either digi or acrylic/rubber) so I went online and found a really cool palm tree digi set from Tiffany Doodles.

The rest of my supplies:
My Mind's Eye Six by Six "Vanity Fair" 6x6 paper collection
Bazzil Kraft cardstock
Copics
ColourBox pigment ink in Moss Green
Stampendous Clear Embossing Powder
Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, Antique Linen and Tea Dye
Stickles in Stardust and Black Diamond
Liquid Pearls in Gold and Bisque
Rhinestone (from my stash)

This week Rayna joins us for this week's Birthday Sundaes challenge!

It would be lovely to see how you can incorporate a tree or trees into your birthday card creations!  Simply create your card, submit it to the Birthday Sundaes blog and submit your card to no more than 6 challenges (including Birthday Sundaes of course!)

Thanks for dropping by!

Oh this card makes me so WARM (we're expecting more snow here - *sigh*). I imagine this is how everyone wants to spend their birthday - doing the hula in the sunshine. :) You did a wonderful job on this one - love the colouring (you are the envy of Copic-users everywhere!) and the sparkle on the trees is perfect. :)
