:: Back for Birthday Sundaes Challenge #34! ::

It’s great to back for Birthday Sundaes Challenge after being off the last week!  The week went by so quickly, but I am grateful for the time off!

I made a birthday card for my father-in-law who celebrated his birthday yesterday.
He’s a big time motorcycle enthusiast and has had one since he was a young adult so when I saw Kraftin’ Kimmie’s “Danny” stamp, I had to have it and make a bday card for him!

I wanted to incorporate faux sheet metal to give the card a more “manly-man” feel. S:o)
I created this look by cutting a piece of black Bazzil cardstock and embossed it with the Cuttlebug ‘Diamond’ embossing folder.

Using my favourite product (as you all know!), I squeezed a little Silver Liquid Pearls at one corner of the cardstock.  Using my finger, I spread the pearl evenly all over the area until it soaked into the paper.  I repeated this step working all the way around the paper until all of the card stock was covered.

I took another Liquid Pearls colour in Platinum and repeated the above step, making sure to coat the paper evenly.  I suppose you could just use the Silver Pearl but I found adding the second shade of colour really made the difference.  I thought this turned out well -- considering! :)

This week, Mary-Beth joins us as guest designer.
Visit her blog at Scapbug Studios to check out her Birthday Sundaes card creation.

Also not only is it a new challenge for Birthday Sundaes
but today, DT member Tracey, is celebrating her birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACEY!!!

Tracey is offering our Birthday Sundaes participants a chance to win some great Kaisercraft candy.  Why not celebrate with us by submitting a birthday card?!

Just be sure to include a birthday sentiment and remember your card can only be submitted up to 6 challenges (including Birthday Sundaes).

Thanks for stopping by!

Samantha, I love the detail on his glasses! How in the world did you think of coating the paper to make it look like this? I love the look!

WOW!!! This is SO cool! That cuttlebugged piece of cardstock is amazing, really worth the effort of using the two colors of pearls. Very fun image too, love his shades!

You are seriously my all-time Copic hero! And I totally thought you had used a real metal sheet on your card. The way you created it is just so darn clever! What a fabulous card! :)
