:: Birthday Sundaes Challenge #30: Fall Colours! ::

It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and it's the perfect atmosphere to show off this week's Birthday Sundaes challenge ~ Fall colours!

One of my favourite seasons, (aside from summer!) is autumn!  A little cliche, but I love the cool, crisp air (though we are currently experiencing a bit of a heat wave here in Ontario!), the beautiful colours of the falling leaves and the smell of a roasting Thanksgiving turkey (along with all the baking that goes with the holiday!).  It's so hard to believe in only a few months more and we will be shoveling snow and celebrating Christmas! So when the DT were given this week's challenge, I was so excited to make this particular card!

The adorable image I coloured with Copics is from Squigglefly.  I cannot remember where and who the tangerine Swiss dot patterned paper is from, but the kraft and dark brown card stock are from Bazzil.  I was able to get my hands on MFT's mini rolled roses die a month or so ago and decided to take a stab at using this fabulous die... I'm sooo looking forward to purchasing the large rolled rose die!  I couldn't believe how simple this was to create!

Using my Martha Stewart frong branch punch, I adhered the rose to the branches and hot glued it to the brown/white side-saddled grosgrain ribbon from Offray.  I placed a red gemstone in the centre of the rose to "complete" the rose.  Adding Ranger Gold Pearl liquid pearls to each layer, I typed and printed a sentiment on my trusty computer and then used gold pearl on the sentiment layer and cover it with Glossy accents.

This week, our guest designer at Birthday Sundaes is Nancie (you can also find her HERE)!  Also, don't forget to check out the other DT creations -- they're fabulous this week!  It would be great to see your autumn birthday creations too!  Just remember to include a birthday sentiment on your creation and to submit your card to no more than 6 challenges (including the Birthday Sundaes challenge!)

On another scrappy note, I am participating in Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps "Krafty Day 2011" this upcoming Sunday, October 16th, which is being held at the Best Western Stoneridge Inn in Lambeth (just outside of London, ON).  I cannot begin to tell you just how beyond excited I am!  Annie Rodrigues (illustrator of Moonlight Whispers) will be there, along with some of my favourite Kraftin' Kimmie DT members (ie. Krista and Melanie!).

If you live in Southern Ontario and want to partake in this crafty crop, stop by KKS to purchase your ticket!

Thanks for dropping by!
