:: Card Patterns Sketch 126 - Happy Anniversary and a Special Thank You! ::

Happy Anniversary to my hubbie!
With all of the excitement of Sunday's Birthday Sundaes Blog Hop, I was also celebrating a personal milestone the same day with my husband -- our 7th wedding anniversary.  I'm still in disbelief that it really has been that long... it just seems like yesterday we were walking down the aisle!

I know he'll kill me for posting this pic, but this man is soooooo supportive and proud of me with all of my card projects since I started making cards 5 years ago as well as applying for the Birthday Sundaes DT call (and for getting on the team!) that I just wanted to show him some appreciation and acknowledgement! He truly is a fabulous man! (even though he sometimes doesn't think so!)

I found a digi stamp from KennyK Downloads (this artist who draws these images is AMAZING!) and found a image perfect for my hubs.  The man loves his ice cream!  If he could, he'd eat it for breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner!

I decided to base my hubs anniversary card on this week's Card Patterns sketch challenge (#126).

I printed out the image on copic paper and used my copic makers to colour the images.  Once I coloured in the hearts, I applied some Glossy Accents on each heart to make them "pop".  I wanted to make the whipping cream and cherry stand out and therefore used some Ranger Stickles in "Stardust" and "Xmas Red".

I recently purchased Echo Park's 6x6 "Victorian Garden" paper pad and used some of the paper from the collection for my card.  To embellish the paper, I applied some white opal Liquid Pearls on the edge of the white paper and the inside of the oval in the image.  Wrapping some Offray black and white checkered ribbon around the paper background, I adhere the background to some Bazzil Black cardstock and adhered everything to a white cardstock base.  I stamped the sentiment in ColourBox black pigment ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder from Stampendous.

Due to my excitement of the Birthday Sundaes Birthday Blog hop, I failed to include my supplies list for the birthday card I created for the hop.  Click HERE and it will take you back to my previous blog hop post with the amendment!  S:o)

Before I end my post, I wanted to send out a special thanks for all of you who participated in Sunday's hop and left comments and/or became followers of my blog. It's lovely to see one's work being acknowledged and I just wanted to let you know that I truly appreciate each and every single you! I'm planning to show just how much in the next few weeks... so keep posted!

Thanks for dropping by!
