:: Birthday Sundaes Challenge #21 ::

Welcome to Birthday Sundaes Challenge #21!  This week's challenge is sponsored by:

To create this card, I printed the Birthday Turtles digi onto copic blending paper
and coloured them with... COPICS!

On a seperate piece of copic paper, I took some Broken China Distress Ink and foam sponge and created a cloud effect by simply using a piece of paper that I cut out from a piece of cardstock.  I learned this technique quite a while ago from someone's site (unfortunately, I cannot remember where I discovered this!)  but I have found another VIDEO by Bev Rochester that demonstrates the exact same idea.  Using Echo Park's "Little Boy" (designed by Crystal Wilkerson) collection, I used the "Rad Plaid" paper and cut out little grass hills for the turtles to "stand" on.

Cutting out pieces of patterned paper from October Afternoon's Farm Fresh collection ("Farmhouse") and (again!) from Echo Park's "Little Boy" designed by Crystal Wilkerson collection ("In the Clouds", "Rad Plaid", "Rock Star") to create the colourful background panels and to frame the sentiment with colour, I inked the edges with similar colours to make them stand out and distressed them using Tim Holtz' distresser tool.  I also took a 5x7" piece of white Bazzil cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder (also for the background!)

Taking one of the balloon stamps from Hero Arts' Wonderful Birthday 4x6 clear stamp set, I stamped two of the same balloon and coloured them in with copics.  To embellish them, I used Stardust, Yellow and Turquoise Stickles to make them sparkle and once the glitter had dried, covered both balloons with Ranger's Glossy accents.

For the sentiment, I stamped "It's Time To Celebrate" from Hero Arts' "Find Joy" sentiment stamp set in ColorBox Black pigment ink and embossing it with clear embossing powder.

As for me, I'm away this weekend, spending time with some of my relatives
and enjoying some nice sunny weather (and hopefully a picnic if it doesn't rain!)

Thanks for dropping by!
