:: Online Summer Card Camp (Week 4) ::

It's the end of summer card camp already?!  Tell me it isn't so!

I had a lot of fun using the different techniques and colour combinations that Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner put together for this class the last month.  Especially this week's combination which is some of my favourite colours (as you might be able to tell by my web page design):

I wanted to include one of last week's colour resist technique with this week's challenge as I was not able to participate in the challenge last week.

Using Hero Arts Plaid background stamp, some Versa-mark ink and American Crafts White Zing Embossing powder, I sponged some Tim Holtz's distress inks (Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Broken china) to create the plaid background.  I created a window with some transparent paper and die cut some scalloped/plain circle nestibilities sandwiching the transparency between the plaid background and Cricut-coloured swiss dot background.

To create the sentiment, I took and cut a square (with square nestie) and with prismacolour pencil crayons, coloured the square image and blended the colour with Gamsol.  With ColourBox black pigment ink, stamped the Hero Arts sentiment in the center of the square.  Using Hero Arts' Antique Engravings stamp set, I stamped two butterflies in ColourBox Ice Blue pigment ink and embossed both with clear embossing powder.  I embellished the butterflies with some dark green rhinestones from my stash but unfortunately the photo isn't doing it justice!  I used white opal Liquid Pearls on the edges of the sentiment, scalloped frame and main card to make the card 'pop'.  Adding a piece of white ribbon to the bottom of the card... this is my addition to this week's final challenge!

I am looking forward to spending a few days with my aunt, who has recently been bitten by the card making bug.  We will be putting together her craft room and creating a few projects along the way!

Until next week, I hope you have a crafty weekend!
